This side table comes from the idea of using machines as digital craftsmen. Portraying qualities that machines can achieve similarly to an artisan.
The Oslo Rubik's cube is a metaphorical representation of the long strolls in Norway's capital's seamless and modular architecture. Every Rubik's module embodies different facades I walked in my 1200 meters daily routine from my flat to the Art Academy.
In the displaying of the access devices, I have the intention to bring self-awareness to an audience that relates to the habit of codes, cards and switches, but at the same time the objects seem to be unperceived, since they have been internalized by the everyday routine.
Behind the tilting effect of the planks, there is an intention of delimiting two stages in the object. The ‘broken’ bench expresses the feeling in the initial stage of being a foreigner, here in Norway. The balanced bench corresponds to the embedded eagerness that design has for understanding and shedding light on the idea of the possibility.
This is a personal project that began during a trip in Japan, where I spent long hours drawing ideas in my sketchbook.
Bonsai includes two possible situations: Place your bonsai as a table's centerpiece or showcase it on the stand. It is made entirely of Oregon's Pine and painted in Coral lacquer.
The mobile table was made for open residences with limited space. The quartz (Silestone) table-top gives the possibility to extend the ‘cooking' surface. Wheels were implemented to enjoy the table either on indoors or outdoors meals or simple use it as a working surface.
I am confident in Rhinoceros 3D (NURBS) and MODO (Polygonal).
I also work with Vray and Keyshot not only to render, but also animating. In addition to these softwares I use Grasshopper, parametric modeler plug-in for Rhinoceros, at mid-level.
